Design and User Experience are key to what we do at Common Good and we’re currently looking for an experienced Senior User Experience Designer to join us in Manchester. We're looking for someone with strong user interface, usability and visual design skills. You’ll be responsible for developing user experiences, interface designs, interaction models and prototypes.

The majority of work is based out of the Manchester studio but please be aware our work can take us around the globe. For that reason you should be happy, where necessary, to spend time out of the country.

Key responsibilities

You’ll enjoy collaborating closely with users, designers, strategists, researchers, product managers and software engineers to go from early stage concepts to successful launch.
You will play a lead role in the feedback and iteration cycle and participate in user testing to gauge the usability of products.
You will be at ease illustrating an experience in theory and then driving it through to a solid design deliverable.
You can selecting appropriate tools, frameworks and approaches for solving challenges.
Inform aspects of user-centred design including information architecture, task analysis, user flows, content hierarchies, interaction design, prototypes, personas, mental models, task flows, rapid prototyping and usability testing
Leverage user research insights, business strategy to help create informed and innovative web/mobile/tablet concepts and drive them to completion
Presenting findings and prototypes to team and clients

About you

5+ years of experience
Ideally a relevant degree - HCI, Interaction Design, Usability or Cognitive Psychology
Experience of working in an Agile/Lean UX environment with Designers and Product Managers
Demonstrable knowledge and passion for user-centred design practices for web, service or software development
Working knowledge of prototyping tools such as Sketch, Marvel, InVision and Keynote
Understanding of current Internet technologies, browsers, HTML5, tablet design, and mobile application interface design, CSS, JavaScript libraries, mobile app frameworks, etc.
